Job Title: Retail Sales Keyholder
Our Retail Sales Keyholders play a vital role in our mission of “Creating & sharing the experience of a more flavorful life.” Every guest interaction is an opportunity to deliver an engaging and flavorful experience to our guests; many of whom are visiting us for the first time! The Spice & Tea Exchange® of Disney Springs prides itself on operating as a flagship location for our brand and providing opportunities for retail associates to learn and grow in a culinary-centered environment. Retail Sales Keyholders contribute to our daily store operations, lead by example, and act as our greatest brand ambassadors.
- Ensure each guest receives a stellar experience and is welcomed into the store and greeted with our custom step-in lines.
- Field questions concerning product information, the uses of our products, and pricing.
- Establish rapport with guests to ensure their return and/or word of mouth advertising.
- Maintain merchandise and product inventory levels throughout the store (on shelves, counters, tables and containers).
- Help maintain store appearance by contributing toward daily routines.
- Assess store inventory levels; notify management of replenishment requirements.
- Price merchandise with labels, SKU’s, prices and locations.
- Maintain solid, accurate, and current product knowledge to adequately promote product by reading applicable publications and attending required training activities.
- Comply with operating standards and procedures pertaining to the daily operation of the store.
- Contribute to the team effort and embody the Disney keys of Inclusion, Safety, Courtesy, Show and Efficiency.
- During each shift, review the opening/closing checklists:
- Take lead on and assign opening/closing duties among fellow associates to ensure completion and sign off of all tasks in a timely manner.
- Ensure that proper execution of tea bar procedures, store cleaning, and all replenishment duties (pegs, trap jars, accessories) have been attended to prior to store open or close.
- Report daily to the Assistant Store Manager (“ASM”) utilizing the store Pass On Log, confirming that all tasks have been completed both efficiently and correctly.
- Provide insight to issues or opportunities as they arise.
- Responsible for cash register management and cash handling, including:
- Opening cash register, counting and depositing opening balance.
- Processing cash transactions using POS System; calculating change correctly so there are no overages or shortages.
- Processing card payments using POS system.
- Reporting any POS issues to ASM.
- Reconciling the cash drawer at change of shift and store closing.
- Ensuring the “bank” is balanced and the safe has been locked; there is no cash outstanding.
- Function as a “buddy” for new hires, offering support and training as assigned.
- Ensure proper coverage of responsibilities with other Keyholders or ASM during break periods.
- 1-2 years of retail Lead experience.
- An engaging personality with proven customer focus and all-star customer service skills.
- Ability to mentor, encourage, and support Sales Associates.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Precision in counting and cash handling.
- Ability to utilize simple math skills to measure ingredients, read a scale, and follow recipes.
- Interest and ability to share knowledge of our many product varieties.
- Ability to pivot and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, team player.
- Full Time Minimum: 30+ hours per week.
- Ability to work a consistent and reliable schedule: days, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Store hours: Sun-Thurs: 10am-11pm, Fri & Sat: 10am - 11:30pm.
- Appreciates spice aromas.
- Ability to operate kitchen tools and food equipment (Tea Bar).
- Physically able to assemble and prepare merchandising displays.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (up to 100% of the time).
- Ability to lift and maneuver inventory; up to 35lbs.
- Consistently work around spices; must not be sensitive to various scents and aromas.
